| | WHAT IS IR THERMOGRAPHY? |
|
| | IR Thermography is a remote inspection technique that determines the temperature profiles of objects and produces pictures called thermograms, thereby allowing the condition of plant and components to be quickly and safely monitored under full operating conditions. Heat is one of the first indicators of impending problems in a wide range of industrial plant. Using the latest portable thermal imagers our experienced thermographers produce the highest quality thermal images for interpretation.
BENEFITS
IR Thermography is playing an increasingly important role in predictive maintenance programs. It can increase productivity and reduce maintenance costs by:
- Decreasing unscheduled breakdowns
- Reducing wasted man-hours servicing fault-free equipment
- Ordering parts in time for planned shutdowns
- Avoiding expensive failures, resulting in longer equipment life
- Monitoring plant under full operational loads
- Prioritising repairs
ADVANTAGES OF IR THERMOGRAPHY
NON CONTACT: Objects can be inspected from 1 to 50 Metres away
NON INTRUSIVE: Plant does not have to be shut down
VISUAL: Thermographs show where the heat and fault is
QUANTITIVE: Temperature measurement indicates the severity of the fault
FAST: Large areas can be inspected quickly
MULTI-PURPOSE: Thermography has a wide range of applications
